No, you do not need a referral from your General Practitioner (huisarts). A referral letter is not required for your health insurance declaration.
If you have mental or physical health complaints though, your GP is your first point of contact and they can refer you for further help. It’s important that your GP is perceptive about your situation as an international. If you sense it’s not the case, get in touch with me for a personal recommendation of GPs who are aware of your needs as an international.
Dance therapy can be part of a multidisciplinary treatment of psychological complaints, including but not limited to, stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, negative self-/body-image, family/relationship problems, grief, chronic pain, concentration problems, rationalization, personality issues, traumatic event, PTSD, identity and adaptation issues.
Next to General Practitioners and psychologists, many others in roles mentioned below (in Dutch) may get in touch with me to refer their client.
